About Ripple Effect Wines:
Ripple Effect Wines is a beautifully small, family-run project led by Jeremy and Catalina, alongside their two children, Benji and Sofia, and vineyard dog Tito. It’s a wine story that didn’t start with a business plan, but with curiosity, creativity, and a deep love of making something together.
Jeremy has been a travelling winemaker since 2006, and Catalina, originally from Chile, met him in 2010 while studying dentistry. To me this is a pretty perfect pairing. Jeremy makes wines that make you smile; Catalina makes sure that smile stays bright. That chance meeting turned into a life together, marriage in 2014, and a return to New Zealand in 2015. Alongside their careers and growing family, they quietly made small batches of wine each year in their garage that got a small following from friends and family … hand-picked, shared with friends, and made purely for the joy of it.
What began as a creative outlet slowly gathered momentum, until the opportunity arose to care for a dry-farmed hillside vineyard that needed new hands. That moment turned something deeply personal into Ripple Effect Wines.
The vineyard is modest but full of character: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and a small amount of Merlot. From this site, Jeremy and Catalina have embraced experimentation and intuition, releasing two debut wines under their Experimental Range…
Otherside, a 100% carbonic Chardonnay
Summer Haze, a rosé born from Chardonnay infused with carbonic Syrah.
Their barrel-aged Pinot Noir and Chardonnays were released late 2025 with a Blanc de Blanc from 2023 resting in bottle patiently waiting in the wings.
For this family, the reward isn’t just the finished wine… it’s the seasons, the work, the learning, and the shared experience.
In a region dominated by scale and big budgets, Ripple Effect Wines is a reminder that some of the most meaningful wines come from small vineyards, strong values, and people pouring their hearts into every bottle.
